Arak Petrochemical Complex Launches Industrial Waste Incinerator

An industtrial waste incinerator was put into operation in Arak Petrochemical Complex.

The incinerator was inaugurated on Monday January 18, marking the National Day of Clean Air. The deputy governor general of Markazi Province for Planning Mr.Mohammadreza Ashouri, the Industries and Mines Department head Mr.Alireza Zavoshi, the Department of Environment head Mr.Hamidreza Jalalvandi, the Arak Petrochemical Company's managing director Mr.Ahmad Mohammadi Bousari, the Arak Petrochemical Company's head Mr.Parviz Hamidi, and a number of industrial experts and managers attended the inaugural ceremony.

According to the public relations department of Arak Petrochemical Company, the system has been designed and installed at the cost of 22 billion rials. It has the capacity of burning up to 400 kilograms of industrial, hospital, and home wastes. The possibility to incinerate solid and liquid wastes simultaneously is one of the key features of the system.

The incinerator is comprised of burning chamber, boiler and filter.

Due to the high temperature inside the system which prevents from the formation of Furane and Dioxin in exit fumes anf for benefiting from the potential energy of the high temperature, the system has been equipped with a boiler with the capacity to produce 2.3 tons of steam with 7 bars of pressure. This is another advantage of the system. It is also equipped with a gas filtrer section which absorbs hydrocarbons and acidic materials and dust from exit gases using chemicals and bag filters.

The filters meet the latest standards in filtering. An analyzer has been installed which controls exit gases online. The analyzer is able to measure all pollutants including CO, CO2, HCL, and hyrocarbons.

The other special feature of the system is that it meets the strictest standards of the world in controlling pollution in exit gases. So, all the equipment and parts have been manufactured based on these standards.

It should also be mentioned that no company in the world has the capability to manufacture all the parts of the system including burning chambers, boilers and filters. So, the related parts have been imported from six manufacturers which are accredited internationally.
