According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department, Shazand Petrochemical Company—holder of several international certifications in the fields of Quality Management, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, and Information Security—has also taken effective and sustained measures in the area of energy management.
One of the company’s most significant achievements in this field has been the control of the growth rate of natural gas consumption, along with a reduction in total gas usage compared to the same period last year, as well as a notable improvement in the company’s energy cost intensity index.
These measures, together with other ongoing initiatives aimed at optimizing energy consumption, led auditors from Marzban Quality, the accredited certification and auditing body, to renew Shazand Petrochemical Company’s ISO 50001 Energy Management System certification for another year.
It is worth noting that under international regulations, ISO certifications are issued with a three-year validity period; however, annual surveillance audits are conducted by the certifying body. In the event of unsatisfactory performance, certifications may be suspended or revoked. The recent audit results, which confirmed both major and minor conformity, serve as clear validation of Shazand Petrochemical Company’s effective and continuous energy management activities.
