According to Markazi Provincial IRIB News Agency, the CEO of Shazand Petrochemical Company stated that wastewater recycling has played a key role in significantly reducing freshwater consumption at the complex.

Abbas Karimi, CEO of Shazand Petrochemical Company, explained that the complex currently consumes approximately 12,000 cubic meters of water, and with the operation of one of the most advanced wastewater treatment plants, the capacity has been created to treat 3 million liters of industrial wastewater.

He added that the treatment plant has a capacity of 600 cubic meters per hour, while at present approximately 400 cubic meters of wastewater per hour is being processed.

Karimi noted that the treated water is reused in the complex’s cooling towers and continuously recycled within the production process.

He further stated that with the implementation of the sewage transfer project from Mohajeran city to the industrial complex, it is expected that an additional 50 liters per second, equivalent to 180 cubic meters per hour, will be supplied to the wastewater treatment facility.

Shazand Petrochemical Company has an annual production capacity of 1.65 million tons of various polymer and chemical products.

It is forecast that product sales revenues of the complex will reach 450 trillion IRR by the end of the current year.
Since the beginning of the year, USD 95 million worth of products have been exported from the complex.
