According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department, a delegation of senior officials from the General Inspection Organization, the Ministry of Petroleum, and the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) visited Shazand Petrochemical Complex to gain firsthand insight into its production operations. During the visit, they commended the company’s achievements over the past year, particularly its performance during the two recent periods of imposed conflict.

During a meeting held on the sidelines of the visit, attended by Dr. Sobhani, Chief Judicial Inspector for Oil Affairs at the General Inspection Organization; Eng. Dadvar, Deputy Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC); Eng. Baghbani, Production Control Director at the National Petrochemical Company; Eng. Cheraghi, Managing Director of Imam Khomeini Oil Refinery (Shazand); and other senior officials, Eng. Karimi, Managing Director and Board Member of Shazand Petrochemical Company, welcomed the participants and presented a five-year comparative performance report covering production, sales, and feedstock supply.

Strong Performance in 2025

Referring to the company’s achievements in 2025, Eng. Karimi stated:

“Despite facing two periods of imposed conflict and a 35-day production shutdown due to a major turnaround and maintenance program, the collective efforts of our management team, employees, and workforce enabled Shazand Petrochemical to deliver a strong and satisfactory performance throughout the year.”

He further noted that despite the 35-day overhaul shutdown, the six-month suspension of A92 hydrocarbon product exports to Afghanistan, and operational interruptions resulting from wartime passive defense considerations, the company successfully produced more than 1.6 million tonnes of various products.

Operating profit exceeded IRR 28.17 trillion, surpassing the combined operating profit achieved during 2023 and 2024. In addition, the company’s operating profit margin increased fivefold compared to the previous year, while net profit nearly quadrupled year-on-year.

Eng. Karimi also praised the dedication and commitment of Shazand Petrochemical’s managers, employees, and workers during both the 12-day conflict and the Ramadan conflict period, emphasizing that the company maintained uninterrupted production throughout these challenging circumstances.

He noted that several petrochemical products manufactured by Shazand are produced exclusively at this complex, underscoring the company’s critical role in securing supply chains and meeting domestic market demand.

The Managing Director also expressed appreciation for the support provided by the General Inspection Organization and the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company and called for continued assistance in ensuring the timely and competitively priced supply of feedstock from domestic sources.

A Major Contributor to Iran’s Economy

In his remarks, Dr. Sobhani praised the efforts of Eng. Karimi, the management team, and employees of Shazand Petrochemical for their role in meeting market needs and supporting industrial production.

He stated:

“With its diverse product portfolio, Shazand Petrochemical plays a substantial and influential role in both the national economy and domestic markets.”

Dr. Sobhani further emphasized the importance of accurate market analysis and continuous process improvement, highlighting the need to address any potential obstacles affecting the company’s production activities.

Eng. Dadvar, Deputy Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, reaffirmed his organization’s full commitment to supporting Shazand Petrochemical through ongoing coordination and regular meetings aimed at ensuring timely feedstock supply and optimizing feedstock pricing mechanisms.

Likewise, Eng. Baghbani, Production Control Director of the National Petrochemical Company, commended Shazand Petrochemical for maintaining uninterrupted production during the two conflict periods and for its vital contribution to the value chain and market supply.

During the site tour of the production units, officials received detailed briefings on the production of a wide range of polymer grades, chemical products, hydrocarbon derivatives, as well as the company’s environmental protection initiatives and sustainability efforts.

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation paid tribute at the memorial site of an Unknown Martyr located within the Shazand Petrochemical Complex, honoring the memory of the nation's fallen heroes.
